FOOD WASTE SOLUTIONS IN THE HOSPITALITY SECTOR
We have years of experience working with the global hospitality sector helping luxury hotel chains, restaurants, and remote island resorts to boost their environmental credentials and reduce their food waste volumes.
The global hospitality sector produces thousands of tonnes of food waste each year, and we’re committed to helping lower this number whether by on-site composting, dewatering or drying, in order to cut carbon emissions and improve the health of our planet.
Whether at remote island luxury hotels or well known chains, high occupancy rates and customer demands for fresh produce mean that food waste is not a new concept. But it doesn’t have to be ‘waste’ it can be used as a resource.
For sites which have landscaping or gardens, on-site composting is a great way to recycle food waste at source and produce a nutrient rich compost for use within the gardens or cultivation plots. However, for those areas which are more compact, food waste drying is a popular option, as it can reduce its volume and weight by up to 90%.
Still wondering about how and why composting is such a great way to recycle food waste?
